Physical security assessment and testing

Cybersecurity ends where someone can walk into the server room with a smile and a box of donuts. Altea assesses the physical security of your buildings: perimeter, doors and hardware, access control system and card type, key management, camera coverage, telecom room and reception procedures. On request, we also run physical penetration tests: tailgating, card cloning, pretext access. As an access control integrator, we can also fix what we find.

What we install

  • Perimeter, entrance and parking walkthrough
  • Doors, frames, strikes, closers and door alarms
  • Access control: configuration, schedules, stale accounts
  • Cards and fobs: technology and cloning risk
  • Key and master-key management
  • Camera coverage and quality
  • Server and telecom rooms
  • Physical penetration test on request (tailgating, pretext)
Process

How a project runs

  1. Scoping: buildings, sensitive areas, authorized scenarios
  2. Walkthrough and survey
  3. Agreed tests (cards, doors, reception)
  4. Report with photos and priorities
  5. Remediation plan and quote, if needed

Solutions for every kind of building

Rental buildings

In rental buildings we check common doors, the garage, technical rooms and how former tenants’ keys and cards are handled.

Condos

For condos we assess the lobby, garage, elevators and how easy it is to follow a resident inside.

Retail

In retail we look at the back room, delivery door, safe and camera blind spots.

Offices

In offices we test reception, floor access, the server room and unlocked workstations.

Industrial

On industrial sites we assess fences, gates, docks and restricted areas.

Warehouses

In warehouses we check docks, overhead doors and how drivers and contractors are controlled.

Institutions

For institutions we assess secondary entrances, sensitive areas and rapid lockdown capability.

Municipal

For municipal buildings we check group access, schedules and key management.

All our cybersecurity services

Firewall and cybersecurityA well-configured firewall, a segmented network, secure remote access and filtering: the basics that stop most attacks.Network auditIs your network slow, dropping or too expensive? We measure before concluding, then fix it.Penetration testingWe attack your network the way an intruder would, within a scope agreed with you, and hand you a prioritized fix plan.Web application penetration testingCustomer portal, online store, SaaS app or API: we look for the flaws an attacker would exploit, before they do.External penetration testingFirewall, VPN, email, websites, remote access: we map everything your company exposes online and check that nothing gives way.Internal penetration testingIf a computer is compromised or a visitor plugs in a device, how far can they go? We measure it, from the network up to the domain controller.Wi-Fi penetration testingWi-Fi spills into the parking lot. We check that an intruder outside can’t connect or hop from the guest network to the internal one.Secure code reviewWe read your code to find what outside testing can’t see: secrets, logic flaws, vulnerable dependencies and forgotten access checks.Social engineering and phishing simulationMost attacks start with an email or a call. We measure how your teams react, without shaming anyone, then train them.Vulnerability scanningRegular scanning of your computers, servers and devices to know what isn’t patched, with a prioritized list — not 3,000 alerts.Security configuration reviewMisconfigurations cause as many incidents as vulnerabilities. We review your critical settings against recognized good practice.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can our access cards be copied?

125 kHz proximity cards, still very common, are easy to copy with cheap hardware. Encrypted smart cards (such as MIFARE DESFire) and mobile credentials are far more resistant. The assessment identifies what you use.

Is the physical test unannounced?

That’s agreed with management: announced or not, with an authorization letter carried by the team on site.

Can you fix the weaknesses you find?

Yes, Altea installs access control, intercoms, cameras and door hardware.
