Meraki licence expired: what now?
Is your Meraki renewal coming up or already past? Before signing, here are your options and what to check.
What happens at expiry
Meraki relies on time-limited licences. At expiry Cisco provides a grace period; after that, devices may stop passing traffic. Check the exact date and terms in your dashboard (Licensing section) and your contract.
Your three options
- Renew for 1, 3, 5 years or more
- Renew a short term while you migrate
- Migrate to a solution with no mandatory licence, such as UniFi
How to decide
Compare total cost over your target period. If your Meraki hardware is nearing end of life, a long renewal pays for a licence on a device you’ll have to replace anyway.
What Altea does
We inventory, price both scenarios and, if you choose to migrate, prepare the cut-over so it happens before the deadline.
